A wonderful way to explore the far side of Wildwood Trail, this longer hike traverses the distance between NW Newton Rd and NW Newberry Rd. Stop to picnic at one of the many scenic viewpoints, and enjoy the fact that you’re in a section of the park that even many longtime residents have never before discovered. This taxing loop cuts through wild country.
ROUTE: Head through the gate down NW Newton Rd to the Wildwood Trail intersection. Turn left and follow Wildwood all the way to its end at NW Newberry Rd. Turn around and come back, turning left onto a steep descent on Firelane 15. After crossing the creek, look for the unmarked intersection with Firelane 12. Make a sharp right and climb the steep slope, then turn right onto BPA Rd. Follow to a left turn onto Wildwood and proceed back past the intersection with NW Newton Rd until Wildwood brings you back up to the NW Newton Rd parking area.
DIRECTIONS: Park at Newton Rd lot, 9799 NW Newton Rd.
