Happy Princess Day! There’s a lot of royal wedding naysayers out there, but I am always down for a good celebration and this one had fancy hats to boot. After months of fashion speculation Kate Middleton’s dress was finally revealed this morning and it was stunning. The designer was the appropriately chosen Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. A McQueen to dress a future queen. I like the symmetry.
People magazine says, "The dress was made by hand, using French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace throughout the bodice, skirt and underskirt. The skirt, made of ivory and white satin gazar, was designed to emulate an opening flower: padded at the hips, it flowed out to the floor. The back of the dress was finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops.”
She looks modern and iconic all at once, and gets 3 snaps in a Z formation. Congratulations to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
