All right my fellow shoe hounds (I know I’m not the only one); this is something for the books. During the midst of next week’s Design Week and the newly rebranded Portland Fashion Week (aka FashionXT) comes an epically fun weekend from the party hardy kids at Solestruck.
To celebrate one year of their flagship store, and their massive exponential online global domination (they get so many international order I’m convinced a member of the customer service team will end up as a United Nation Ambassador), management is doing it up big time.
First on the docket. Next Saturday, October 13, an event co-hosted by Ladygunn Magazine, guests are invited to a fashion and music presentation benefiting Portland based nonprofit re:Active, a design education program that sets up teens with mentors in design fields and collaborates with teens on projects that address social issues like teen pregnancy and bullying. With a stellar lineup featuring indie designers, Hello Eliza, Esque by Leslie Pennel, Degen, Stolen Girlfriend's Club, and Bess- along with music from DJ Tah Rei, White Rainbow, and Yacht- you do not want to miss this. Cash bar provided by New Deal Distillery and several local breweries. Doors open at 6pm and presentations from 7-10pm with an official after party hosted at Dig A Pony. Tickets are on presale for $15 through The Mercury website and strangertickets.com or $18 day of show. Event takes place at The Spot 2401 N. Harding Ave Portland, Or 97227.
Following that impressive line up of fun, the next day hundreds of pairs of styles will be up for grabs at Solestruck’s first ever sample sale. Tons of styles by designer brands will be on sale for one day only, all under a hundred dollars and as low as twenty dollars. Get your wallets and your elbows ready to dive into the biggest sale Solestruck has ever offered. Doors open at noon at 417 SW 13th Ave.
Next week will be a marathon of activities; everyone had better eat their Wheaties.
