Childhood friends Daisy Grattan and Marissa Rodriguez tossed around the idea of opening their own boutique for years. Rodriguez says the final push to make it happen came from an unlikely source: Having a baby. “Having a baby teaches you two thing. If I can do this, I can do anything. And it’s now or never.”
The two gave birth to their other baby, clothing boutique Abrahams and Duffy (named for their grandmother’s maiden names) this summer. The womenswear shop has a high focus on lines made in Northern America and ethically sound clothing. Rodriguez points to their line Elroy as being one of the most ethically minded apparel companies in their world from concept to production.
In addition to all the awesome feel good stuff, the clothes look great! The overall aesthetic is about interesting basics and layering pieces. Nothing is frumpy, and nothing is so fashion forward you have to throw an event for a cause to wear it. You know, the kind of store you easily fall in love with.
