BIG IDEA Every other April, 160 photographers gather in a bustling picture bazaar far more fun than its drab title—the Portfolio Walk—would suggest. Rotating in three hourlong shifts, art photographers and documentarians set out their wares in the Portland Art Museum’s sunken ballroom, answer questions, and create a welcome departure from the usual gallery scene. “It’s a unique opportunity,” says local photographer Grace Weston (photo above). “Artists get to make connections.
