A vast selection of wines is uncorked with dinner at the 25th Classic Wines Auction. The event took place at the Oregon Convention Center on March 7.

Karen Hinsdale, president of the Cellar Door, a local wine retail shop, and one of the founding board members of the Oregon Classic Wines Auction, takes a time-out from the festivities. The auction began in 1982 with a small group of friends exchanging wines to raise funds for Portland’s Metropolitan Family Service.

The silent auction starts up before dinner as connoisseurs take the opportunity to bid on valuable wines from Oregon, Washington, California, and Reims, France. The auction raised $2.2 million for local charities.
