After nearly eight years mastering the art of the Portland cupcake at her shops on SE Belmont and in the West End, Curl has turned to sweets both retro and modern to continue her dessert empire. At Quin, a 180-square-foot closet of a candy shop in the still-under-construction Parisian-inspired Union Way corridor between SW Stark and W Burnside, her handcrafted candies and caramels make the most of Portland's resident culinary artisans, from Steven Smith Teamaker and Water Avenue Coffee to Woodblock Chocolate and strawberries from Oregon farms.
