There are few restaurants in this town that can satisfy everyone’s taste buds, but the Northwest-inspired, internationally reaching menu at this sleek Hawthorne hub (next door to its formal cousin, Castagna) has just about all of us covered. Begin with a martini prepared with Earl Grey-infused vodka—or, for the tart ’n’ sweet folks in your party, a subtle, house-infused raspberry lemon drop. The burger (especially when blue cheese and bacon are added) is hard to pass up due to the kitchen’s ability to achieve a consistently perfect medium rare, but diners in a more rustic mood can savor such dishes as roasted chicken with, say, panzanella. Pasta-heads can fill their noodles with baked penne smothered in a rich trio of Gruyère, cheddar, and parmesan. And while some may prefer the espresso-drowned gelato affogato for dessert, kids—and kids at heart—dive into the root beer floats, which make just about everyone happy.
