At OHSU Urology, we pride ourselves on having an incredible team of doctors. “Our experience and training are second to none,” says urologic cancer expert Christopher Amling, MD, FACS, who heads the Division of Urology in the Department of Surgery at OHSU. All of our physicians have advanced fellowship training (education and experience beyond general urology training) in specific areas of urology, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery, kidney stone disease, reconstructive urology, female incontinence and pelvic floor reconstruction, pediatric urology, male infertility, and urologic oncology. They are nationally recognized experts in their fields.

We specialize in minimally invasive surgical treatment for urologic cancers, including utilization of robotic surgery for prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. Minimally invasive surgery options mean better outcomes for our patients. There’s less pain, less time in the hospital, and a much faster recovery. In our robotic surgery program, our highly skilled and experienced surgeons use a surgical robot to facilitate the operation. Due to our extensive experience in this area, our program has been extremely successful and is growing rapidly.

Our surgeons include pioneers in treating urinary stone disease and are nationally recognized experts in the field of urinary tract reconstruction and urinary diversion. Our pediatric urologists devote 100% of their time to the treatment of children with urologic disorders. For couples with infertility, our male infertility program ranks as one of the busiest in the country. Our surgeons have extensive experience with assisted reproductive techniques and microsurgery for vasectomy reversal.

We also specialize in personalized urologic cancer care. At OHSU, you have a team of doctors at your disposal who work together to formulate a treatment plan specific to your cancer. This multidisciplinary team approach involves input from surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, and specialized nursing staff.
