The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University offers a full-service practice with six plastic surgeons, physician assistant, and a full-time aesthetician. The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is proud to introduce Hema J. Thakar, MD, as our newest faculty member. Dr. Thakar is broadly trained in the techniques of plastic and reconstructive surgery and has a particular interest and expertise in teh DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction procedure. Dr. Thakar received her undergraduate degree from Rice University and medical degree from Vanderbilt University. After general and plastic surgery residency training at the University of Texas, Southwestern, she recently completed a DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction fellowship at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Thakar’s clinical interests include breast cancer reconstruction, microsurgery, and general and cosmetic plastic surgery.
