Walker Cultural Arts Center continues its free monthly lecture series by welcoming Western Oregon professor, Curtis Yehnert, to speak on the theme and taboo of "looking back." When Lot's Wife looked back to glimpse the destruction of Sodom, she was turned into a pillar of salt. When Orpheus looked back, he was punished with Eurydice vanishing before his eyes. Using mythology and folklore, Professor Yehnert will examine what is revealed about human nature that so many cannot keep themselves from looking back.
