Pioneer Courthouse Square will host its first annual sing-a-long series, "Singin' in the Square," a free community concert led by piano thumper Thomas Lauderdale of Portland song sophisticates Pink Martini.
Sing your favorite songs in harmony accompanied by the full Pink Martini band (with both China Forbes AND Storm Large), along with members of the Oregon Symphony and the Von Trapp grandchildren. Don't know the words? Never fear, complimentary songbooks produced by Wieden + Kennedy feature nearly 50 songs, hand-selected by Lauderdale, and will be distributed at the event while supplies last. In case of rain, event attendees can stay dry with custom clear "Singin' in the Square" bubble bumbershoots created by local umbrella makers ShedRain.
