In partnership with the Science and Learning Center at Crater Lake National Park, the Eugene Contemporary Chamber Ensemble (ECCE),
a group of talented young instrumentalists founded in 2005 that performs in forces ranging from solos to large ensembles, will explore the need to protect places of natural quiet through music and two short documentaries. The event will feature the world premier of Andrew Stiefel’s Echoes of a Sonic Habitat, commissioned by Crater Lake National Park, alongside the music of John Luther Adams, Emily Dolittle, and Tristan Murail. Guest soprano Estelí Gomez will perform new art songs by Oregon composers Robert Chastain, David Eisenband, Nicole Portley, Diana Rosenblum, and Jacob Walls.
