The Scandinavian Festival, now in its 27th year, continues to showcase the best of the five Nordic countries—Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland. There will be traditional music and dance, crafts and ware (with over 70 vendors attending), and—of course—food. Sure, there will be meatballs, but so much more, including: aebleskiver (apple pancake balls), lefse & krum kake, pickled herring and flat bread, rice pudding and fruit soup. And, come on, where else in Portland are you likely to witness a Pickled Herring Eating Contest?
