Post5 Theatre: Hamlet
Coming this March, Portland’s Post5 Theatre will embark on a fresh journey into the psyche of the perhaps most famous protagonist of Shakespeare’s works, Hamlet. Post5’s productions stand out for their rapid, in-your-face, innovative approaches to classic works such as Julius Caesar, Tartuffe, and Arabian Nights, and Hamlet promises to deliver with a fresh take on the script and newly developed multimedia projections in Post5’s intimate Black-Box theatre. Post5’s production of Hamlet, directed by Orion Bradshaw, will focus on the themes of doubt, trust, and duty that are embedded within Prince Hamlet’s relationship with his late father in a personal, psychological, and fast-paced production.
In conjunction with the production, Post5 will also introduce its Experience Hamlet project, an all-inclusive learning experience for students to get an inside look at the production process in progress. Consisting of interviews with the cast and crew, pre and post-show discussions, and school visits from participating artists, the project is the first companion production that Post5 has created alongside one of its shows.
Hamlet debuts Thursday, March 27, running until May 4th. Tickets are $15 and Sundays are Pay-What-You-Will.
