This year's Oscar-nominated animated shorts include
Adam and Dog, a story about the dog of Eden;
Fresh Guacamole, in which familiar objects are turned into guacamole;
Head Over Heels, about a long-married couple who try to rekindle their love after one of of them has lived for years on the floor of their home, while the other has lived on the ceiling;
The Longest Daycare, starring Maggie Simpson at the Ayn Rand School for Tots; and
Paperman, the mostly black-and-white, sweetly adorable love note of a film that follows a single paper airplane thrown by a young man from a Manhattan office building window in the hopes that it might be found by the beautiful woman he exchanged glances with earlier in the day.
