EVENT DETAILS
Thumbnail for - No Name #1: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Elliott Smith Portland (naturally) will be one of four cities participating in a series of benefit concerts in honor of what would have been the 44th birthday of the late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith, who continues to build a formidable following even a decade after his untimely and tragic demise. Musical guests performing Smith’s songs are still being announced—thus far members of Grandaddy are slated to play. Portland’s event will be hosted by director Gus Van Sant, for whom Smith wrote and sang the Oscar-nominated song “Miss Misery” in the film Good Will Hunting. Proceeds from the concert support local homeless youth social service agency Outside In.
