Lee "Scratch" Perry
Without Lee "Scratch" Perry, there agruably would be no modern reggae or dub music, and the Clash would sound pretty boring, too. Born in rural Jamaica, Perry moved to Kingston in the 1960s where he became a disc jockey, musician, singer, and record producer. Even the word "pioneer" might be an understatement. Keith Richards referred to him as "the Salvador Dali of music."
