After his brother is murdered by a yakuza boss for debts incurred at future filmmaker Shuji's expense, he must find a way to repay or meet the same violent end. Cut is Iranian-born filmmaker Amir Naderi's impassioned plea to preserve the art of cinema, and serves as a kinetic homage to cinematic masters through protaganist Shuji's devotion of Godard, Welles, Ozu, and Kurosawa.
The film is a part of the NW Film Center's Japanese Currents film series, showcasing the best of contemporary Japanese cinema.
