36th Chamber of Shaolin
It's no secret that RZA of Wu-Tang Clan is an ardent practioner of martial arts, sparked by his interest in kung fu film. In fact, he's known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the genre, counting 36th Chamber of Shaolin among his favorite. As producer, he sampled dialogue from the film on Wu-Tang's breakthrough record, Enter the Wu-Tang Clan (36 Chambers), which named in its honor. RZA is not the film's only fan. It is largely considered one of the best martial arts films since its 1978 release. Master Lau Kar Leung directs Gordon Liu as a fictionalized version of Sun Te, a legendary 18th century disciple of Shaolin martial arts, who after completing his training, incites an uprising. Shown on an extremely rare 35mm, it "ain't nuthing ta f' wit."
