Proving that you’re never too old to have your own stash of trading cards, the Chehalem Mountain Winegrowers Association has introduced a limited edition deck of cards profiling 28 unique wine industry characters that make up the vibrant Chehalem Mountains AVA.

Spanning 1,400 acres just 20 miles southwest of Portland, this viticultural area is home to approximately 150 vineyards and 50 established wineries and producers, many of them family farms producing some of Oregon’s best Pinot Noirs.

These quirky trading cards bring these individuals to life and capture the personality, character, and little known details about the people behind the wines.

Well-designed, informative, and offbeat, these cards were curated for wine lovers who want to go behind the bottle label. In addition to detailing vineyard vital stats like soil types, acreage, and varieties grown, these cards reveal which winemaker was a former KISS business manager, which winery destems their grapes with energy generated by recumbent bikes, and the winemakers who have bolstered the Oregon wine industry, making it the vibrant region it is today.

You can collect these cards at participating wineries—check out the Chehalem Mountains website to find out who’s included in the pack. For those determined collectors bent on acquiring all 28 cards, the AVA is offering a prize of complimentary wine tastings for two and entry into a drawing for other prizes.
