Get your mouse poised and ready to click: Portland chefs are asking for your vote in the 2013 Food & Wine People's Best New Chef competition, one of the only national foodie contests to give online opinionists the chance to weigh in on regional culinary stand-outs.
This year, six Portland hotshots dominate the Northwest bracket, one of the ten regional categories that subdivides the 100 nominees. Here are our Hometown Heroes set to bring home the braggin' rights:
- Ox's Greg Denton and Gabrielle Quiñónez Denton
- Clyde Common's Chris DiMinno
- Riffle NW's Ken Norris
- Aviary's Sarah Pliner
- and Smallwares' Johanna Ware

Eat Beat Bookie Report: If you're keeping track of this year's awards tallies, the Dentons are also jointly nominated as semifinalists for the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef Northwest, but you don't get to vote on that one.
