← “Foodlandia: How Portland Cooked Up America’s Most Original Food City” at Kennedy School's History Pub Monday
What: Portland Monthly food critic and author Karen Brooks (the first to identify the “Portland food school,” a scene of spirited chefs, dogged farmers, plucky innovators and adventurous diners all in it together) will chronicle the rise of a city that defied the gods of gastronomy and why it matters. Portland restaurant tips and secrets will be shared, followed by a book signing of Brooks's latest book The Mighty Gastropolis: A Journey Through America's New Food Culture.

Celebrate Peruvian Independence Day with Food, Drinks, and Dancing at Andina
What: To celebrate Peruvian Independence day, head to Andina’s award-winning event space, Tupai, to see a two-set performance by special guest artist Santiago “Coco” Linares as well as dance performances by renowned Peruvian dancers. Throughout the performance, guests may order a la carte menu options from Andina’s full tapas, dinner, drinks, and dessert menus.

Morgan St. Theater Collaborative Dessert Pop-Up
What: For one night in July, Morgan St. Theater is collaborating with pastry chef Mindy Keith to create a tasting menu devoted to creative ice cream desserts. Drawing inspiration from seasonal ingredients and whimsical imaginations, this menu brings summertime to the foreground, playing with the infinite possibilities of frozen desserts. This 24-seat performance at Xico will include a flight of three frozen desserts served with storytelling and flair.

Alliance Francaise 7th Annual Concours de Tartes aux Fruits
What: Celebrate the season’s freshest flavors with tarts from the region’s top pastry chefs at the 7th Annual Concours de Tartes aux Fruits, coming to the Multnomah Athetic Club in August. The nonprofit Alliance Française of Portland has partnered with the Multnomah Athetlic Club and the Oregon Culinary Institute to sponsor this culinary competition of seasonal inspiration.

What: ArborBrook Vineyards, located at the foothills of the Chehalem Mountains, is hosting 26 wineries and acclaimed regional restaurants to celebrate Oregon’s bounty of exceptional food and wine. This will be the summer event for Portlanders and tourists looking to educate themselves about the Chehalem and Ribbon Ridge AVAs’ Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, and Gewürztraminer, all while enjoying the natural setting where these grapes grow and ripen. The winemakers of ArborBrook will be offering tours of the vineyard, explaining how the cataclysmic floods, tumults, winds, earthquake, and volcanic eruptions have shaped the soil type and microclimates. Chefs from The Bent Brick, Bamboo Sushi, Cha Cha Cha, The Painted Lady, Storrs, and SubTerra will all be pairing the fruit of the Chehalem terroir with their culinary creations.

Deschutes Brewery Hop Harvest Hoedown
What: Are you a fan of hoppy brews? Then join the folks of Deschutes Brewery for a Hop Harvest Hoedown—they’ll even transport you down on a fun bus ride from the heart of Portland and back. Catch a glimpse of the fresh hops on their vines, enjoy a full BBQ dinner with Deschutes beer pairings with live music by The Hollerbodies and World’s Finest. There will even be hayrides throughout the hop fields with a brewer.
