McMenamins Estate to Table Dinner
What: Join the folks at Edgefield for an evening in the middle of their vegetable garden featuring a menu and beverages created and produced on the Edgefield property (more than 50 varieties of fruits, herbs, and vegetables are grown on the grounds). The reception and multi-course dinner will consist of a series of parings of Edgefield Brewery ales, wines, and cocktails with a custom menu from Black Rabbit Executive Chef Kenny Giambalvo.

Surf This Summer Rooftop Party
What: Gather to revel in peak summer style! The Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA) and KASK will host a beach party extravaganza at PICA’s spacious rooftop deck in the heart of downtown Portland. Gruner's Chris Israel has planned a feast of summertime culinary delights—including a full BBQ spread, wine and cocktails by KASK, and beer from Full Sail—featuring the surf sounds of Wavesauce, DJ Rich King and DJ Ping Pong, vintage surf films, lifeguards, limbo, and ukuleles.

Portland Meadows Presents Special Live Race Day & BBQ Championship
What: The Portland Meadows BBQ Championship is a Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association (PNWBA) sanctioned state BBQ cook off. Up to 30 teams will compete for the $5,000 prize and opportunity to compete in the American Royal: The World Series of BBQ in Kansas City as well as Jack Daniel’s World Invitational Championship in Lynchburg, TN. Watch champion pitmasters from around the PNW prepare the champion selection of meats: brisket, pork shoulder, pork ribs, and chicken, some of which will be cooked for over 12 hours. Most competing teams will offer meat for purchase. There will also be a pie eating contest, live horse racing, and various kid-friendly activities such as face painting and jumpy gyms.

5th Annual Imperial IPA Festival at Saraveza
What: This beer event is going to be hoppin’! Featuring over 30 Imperial IPAs, double bacon BLTs, a new table dedicated to firkins, a Berliner Weisse Oasis, and live music, the 5th Annual IPA Festival will take place at Saraveza Bottle Shop & Pasty Tavern and neighboring Bad Habit Room. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to try unique IIPA fest beers made by Block 15, Base Camp Brewing Co, Coalition, Gigantic, Solera, and more.

Deschutes Brewery Hop Harvest Hoedown
What: Are you a fan of hoppy brews? Then join the folks of Deschutes Brewery for a Hop Harvest Hoedown—they’ll even transport you down on a fun bus ride from the heart of Portland and back. Catch a glimpse of the fresh hops on their vines, enjoy a full BBQ dinner with Deschutes beer pairings with live music by The Hollerbodies and World’s Finest. There will even be hayrides throughout the hop fields with a brewer.

What: Portlanders concerned with the serious decline of Oregon’s bees are gathering on National Honey Bee Day to protest the use of pesticides that kill pollinators. Swarm Portland will feature people dressed in bee costumes, a Bike for Bees ride, and a display of two picnics—one with bees and one without bees. A special theatrical event will take place at 11 am called a “Bee Die In,” intended to call attention to Oregon’s bee die offs, which have been linked to farm and garden pesticides that have killed tens of thousands of Oregon bees in the past year.

Wetlands & Wellies
What: The Wetlands Conservancy hosts their annual fundraiser event to celebrate over 30 years of preserving and restoring Oregon's greatest wetlands. Wetlands & Wellies 2014 will showcase small plates paired with wines, beers and spirits. Dinner and drinks will be curated by Cathy Whims, a long time collaborator and active supporter of the the organization.

Nomad PDX at Elder Hall
What: Nomad PDX will be hosting a dinner at Elder Hall on August 24, featuring anywhere between 10-15 courses with beverage pairings. The culinary team behind the popular pop-up uses the time in between dinners to meet and plan with cooks/artists and gather inspiration from the land and the season

Holdfast at the Movies!
What: Holdfast is hosting their first ever movie-themed pop-up dinner at The Cleaners, the private-dining space next to Clyde Common. “Holdfast at the Movies” will be an evening of movies, cocktails, and snacks. Upon arrival there will be time to mingle over drinks prior to the feature presentation, during which snacks and finger foods will be circulated. After the main feature, music and clips will be played as guests linger over the last of their cocktails.

Hokusei Sushi & Breakside Brewery Izakaya Beer Dinner
What: Hokusei and Breakside Brewery invite you to join them as they taste through a special izakaya-style menu, paired with some of Breakside Brewery’s most exciting summer brews.
