Old Fashioned

Recipe Courtesy of Neil Kopplin of Clyde Common

2 oz whiskey of choice*

ΒΌ oz simple syrup

2 dashes Angostura bitters

lemon zest

Combine whiskey, simple syrup, and bitters in a glass filled with ice. Swirl for 20 seconds. Strain into a tumbler filled with ice.Top with lemon zest. Serve.

(*Because of its versatility and affordability, Kopplin prefers Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, but to stay local, you might try it with McMenamins Hogshead Whiskey.)
