Chefsploitation noun

The increasingly common misconception that anything in the life of a professional chef is automatically interesting, and therefore fodder for reality TV, fuel for local-celebrity gossip, or a gold-plated draw for a fundraiser.

In a diatribe: “How many charity farm-to-table dinners can one city afford? Chefsploitation has gotten out of control! Someone just posted a Twitpic of Matt Lightner’s new haircut.” See: Top Chef Masters, any food blog. Comparable to: art auctions.
