Toro Bravo Cookbook to be published by McSweeney’s
Portland’s small-plate guru John Gorham is teaming up with local writer Liz Crain to write The Toro Bravo Cookbook: The Making, Breaking and Riding of a Bull, due out fall 2013.

The secrets of Portland’s top chefs continue to be revealed. Up next in the cookbook expose parade? John Gorham of Toro Bravo and Tasty n Sons will debut The Toro Bravo Cookbook: The Making, Breaking and Riding of a Bull next year, thanks to the publishers at San Fransisco’s fiercely independent publishing house McSweeney’s Books.
Gorham will co-write the irreverent tome with food writer Liz Crain, who penned The Food Lover’s Guide to Portland in 2010, photos will be shot by Portland food photographer David Lanthan Reamer, and additional illustrations will come courtesy of Tyler Adams (owner of Portland’s Grizzly Tattoo). A true Portland dream team!
The book will feature one hundred Toro Bravo recipes, tales from Gorham’s travels, and essays on Toro Bravo service and advertising.
