Why is it they think it takes $10 billion for this crossing when the new Hoover Dam crossing in Arizona/Nevada only cost $240 million…

My mind is a little boggled by that one. I am across the river in Vancouver and think this is just another way to line the pockets of some greedy business men/women.

This gentleman has not gone to any of the talks given regarding what the “plan” is for the Columbia River Crossing from the just after his first comments.

I was lucky enough to attend a very good presentation of what the plans are so far and they include both commuter rail and bike lane, completely aside from the vehicle lanes. The design that I was shown included both on a lower level in a stacked style formation.
The project is not to be done as a whole, but in sections, with the on/off ramps at each intersection becoming their own projects.
The money is not to come from just one state but both with Federal funding as well.
You might make sure that you have your sources including Mr. Cort-right (as you call him in this months magazine) double check their sources prior to speaking and certainly prior to printing. Hmm but then that would be considered “good journalism” wouldn’t it?
