Spring Fling

noun or verb

The (irritating yet inevitable) act of throwing unripe, bitter, anemic, out-of-season fruit into the trash or compost heap after buying it in a fit of seasonal impatience. In a sentence: “I was so sick of eating kale and kohlrabi, I caved and bought California strawberries.
