In a sign that we might just be moving up the ladder of fanciness, Tory Burch just announced next month they will open their first Oregon store in a 2,500-square-foot space in Pioneer Place. Burch’s line of sophisticated ready-to-wear clothing always impresses with its effortless ability to seem both glamorous and attainable. In addition to her stylish dresses, chic coats and tailored pants the store will feature handbags, shoes, small leather goods, eyewear and accessories.

Adding Burch to our city feels like we’ve just been given secret passage to the New York fashion scene. This isn’t just a so-so brand moving in. Since the companies inception Burch has received loads of recognition from the fashion industry including the 2008 CFDA for Accessory Designer of the Year; 2007 Accessory Brand Launch of the Year from the Accessories Council of Excellence; and the 2005 Rising Star award from Fashion Group International. In 2010, Tory was named one of Forbes’ Most Powerful Women in the World, and in 2011 she was named one of Glamour’s Women of the Year.

In short, this is pretty cool.
