Following the success of Feast Portland's inspirational Whole Foods Speaker Series, a new food-centric conference will fill the seats of Portland's Gerding Theater at the Armory on Tuesday, January 15th.
Featuring twelve short-format, TED-style talks on the future of food, FoodWorx will bring together leaders in our community—think Allison Frost, Senior Producer at OPB, Karen Brooks, Portland Monthly's Restaurant Editor, Heather Schmidt, Sustainability Manager at New Seasons Market, and Steve Jones of Cheese Bar—for a tech-savvy brainstorming session for the 21st century food world.
Sponsored by The World Food Travel Association (formerly the International Culinary Tourism Association), the conference will tackle issues of food production, distribution and consumption in the coming decades with an eye toward's Portland's role as a trend-setter in sustainable and community-focused food and drink industries.
