Side Yard Farm Kickstarter Brunch

What: A buffet-style fundraiser brunch aiming to help chef Stacey Givens bring her seed-­to­-plate suppers and brunches on location anywhere. Dishes will include breakfast burritos, corn cakes, seasonal hash, farm-raised bacon, Croque Madames, cinnamon rolls, benedicts, scrambles, fresh bloody marys with farm pickle bar, local coffee, seasonal mimosas, and fresh squeezed orange juice.

John Taboada's Japanese Farm Food Dinner

What: A five-course feast from Navarre and Luce chef John Taboada inspired by Nancy Singleton Hachisu's cookbook-memoir Japanese Farm Food, featuring rice, soy sauce, and miso from the author's farm in Japan. The dinner will be served with an optional wine pairing, the author will serve as host and storyteller, and copies of Japanese Farm Food will be available for sale.

Genoa-Accanto Supper Club at SE Wine Collective

What: Genoa and Accanto chefs Jake Martin, Matt Elswick, and Dulce Frommer will take over the SE Wine Collective to prepare a four-course modern Italian meal. Dishes like bison with beets and black olives and nettle gnocchi with han hock and preserved lemon will be paired with new-release rosés from Division Winemaking Co. and Bow & Arrow wines and some special Italian wines out of Genoa's cellar.

Panoramic Pinot Gris Tasting at Salty's

What: Over a dozen Oregon wineries will be pouring the region's best white wines alongside a buffet of appetizers (think lobster fondue, lamb meatballs, and caramel almond sesame sticks) with a great 180° view of the Columbia River. Featured wineries will include Erath, Montinore, Elk Cove, Chehalem, King Estate, Dobbes, and more.

How Much: $29 per person (21+), including wine and appetizer buffet. Guests can purchase bottles of Pinot Gris to take home at a discounted price. For reservations call 503-288-4444.

Beautiful Beans Event at Ecotrust

What:An educational evening from the Portland Culinary Alliance featuring a panel of bean enthusiasts (Hannah Kullberg, Carol Boutard, Katherine Deumling and Dr. Samantha Brody) who will share experiences growing, cooking, and storing dry beans in Oregon. Guests will also enjoy an Ayers Creek Farm heirloom bean tasting and display and Borlotti Bean Bruschetta prepared by the chefs of Ava Gene's. 
When: Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Where: Ecotrust Building, 721 NW 9th Ave, Suite 200
How Much: PCA Members $10; non-PCA members $15. A no-host bar with beer and wine will be available. Tickets can be purchased on the PCA website.

The Bite of Mt Hood

What: The 4th annual food event presented by the Mt Hood Area Chamber of Commerce, featuring tastings from Altitude at The Resort, Rendezvous, Skyway Bar and Grill, Busy Bee Catering, Whistle Stop Bar and Grill, El Burro Loco, Hazelnut House Bakery, The Shack, and Ivy Bear Family Pizzeria.

Saturday, April 20 from 5 to 9 pm
Where: 
The Resort at The Mountain, 68010 E Fairway Avenue in Welches, Oregon
How Much: $5 per person at the door, each tasting ticket is $2. All proceeds from the event benefit the Mt. Hood Area Chamber of Commerce, which uses funds to support the community and local organizations in the area. For more information about the Bite of Mt. Hood, visit thebiteofmthood.com.

The Association Dinner with Biwa and Sam Adams

What: The second gathering of new supper club/conversational salon will feature chef Gabe Rosen of Biwa and former Portland mayor (and current Executive Director of the City Club of Portland) Sam Adams. Rosen will serve the traditional Japanese soup Nabe, a one-pot dish made by adding ingredients to a common hot pot, and Adams will share stories of neighbors, community, and collaboration. Four Merit Badge cocktails will be paired throughout the evening, and custom-made ice cream from Salt and Straw will be cap the meal.

The 2013 Oyster Bus Tour

What: The team behind the Parish and EaT: An Oyster Bar are partnering with Double Mountain and Trumer Pils brewing to trek to Chelsea Shellfish Farms, where the chefs will prepare lunch. Guests will eat a bunch of Oysters, drink some beer, enjoy a tour of the facility, and learn about oyster aqua culture.
When: Saturday, April 27 departing at 9 am, returning early evening.
Where: The bus will leave from EaT: An Oyster Bar in Portland.
How Much: $85 per person, which includes transport, beer, wine, morning pastries, coffee, and picnic lunch at the farm. Call EaT: An Oyster Bar to buy your tickets at 503-281-1222.
