RedTail Golf Center

8200 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, Beaverton

When the city of Beaverton remade Progress Downs into RedTail in 1999, it left one thing (thankfully) alone: the Stockpot Broiler, where meat has been the mission for 38 years. Do order one of the ’Pot’s hand-carved steaks, aged for 28 days. Don’t even think about picking up your knife. You won’t need it.

Glendoveer Golf Course

14021 NE Glisan St, Portland

With its new downtown fish house and revamped Northwest steak house, Ringside’s east-side satellite gets little attention. Too bad. Because the manhattans are just as stiff and the steak bites just as tasty at this gem next door to Glendoveer. Whether you play the Metro-owned, fir-lined East Course, or the mellower West Course, your day should end here.

Lake Oswego Public Course

17525 Stafford Rd, Lake Oswego

This tree-lined course along Lost Dog Creek got a lot more attractive in May, when former food cart Casa del Pollo (a top pick in our March issue’s “Cheap Eats” feature) and its finger- (and plate-) licking-good smoked chicken arrived on site.

Langdon Farms

24377 NE Aurora Rd, Aurora

Pegged as the country’s “Best New Clubhouse” in 1996 by Golf Inc magazine, the Big Red Barn’s luster hasn’t dimmed a bit in the near two decades since. Prettily situated along picturesque Willamette Valley farmland, Langdon remains a favorite Oregon spot among the industry pubs like Golfweek—and the Langdon Grill’s house-made Cajun mac and cheese has just as many fans as the course.

The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Course

4805 SW 229th Ave, Aloha

Sure, the grub at this luxe course is a step up from the standard burger and chicken wrap (think blackened snapper and a Willamette Valley wine list). But the deck is the real reason to come: with 3,500 square feet of south- and west-facing magnificence overlooking the 18th green, it’s a prime sunset-savoring perch whether you’ve turned in a scorecard or not.

The Resort at the Mountain

68010 E Fairway Ave, Welches

With three distinct nine-hole courses, playing the Resort can eat up the better part of the day. Fortunately, 157 forested rooms and suites and the Northwest-inspired menu at Altitude can easily help you stretch your outing into an overnight.
