Portland News to Chew
The American Local launches brunch, Lardo North opens, and Ned Ludd draws inspiration from a classic Wu-Tang Clan album.
As if it were hurting for options, SE Division gets another mouth-watering brunch menu—this time at the American Local, where eight-time restaurateur Chef Chris Whaley emphasizes hearty Americana with a distinctly Asian flair. Try beef skewers with a side of eggs and grilled toast or a plate of pork belly with sriracha with maple, and round out the meal with a carrot juice-infused Bloody Mary or Junipero gin with ginger liqueur, jasmine-hibiscus honey, and lemon. 3003 SE Division St., brunch only on Sundays: 10:30 am-2 pm.
Can you imagine a better way to eat your ‘za than an evening filled with 90s playlists packed with LL Cool J, Salt n’ Peppa, and Run DMC, Wu-Tang Clan inspired to-go boxes, and delectables fresh out of the woodfired oven? Neither can we. Ned Ludd's Monday night pizza party (brought to you by cook Nick Ford and server Brandon Gomez) is now a whole lot cooler: officially dubbed P.R.E.A.M. (Pizza Rules Everything Around Me), the night draws inspiration from Wu-Tang Clan’s infamous 1993 hip-hop single “C.R.E.A.M” (Cash Rules Everything Around Me). 3925 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
