Sundown Concert Series at Ecotrust
What: Honor your favorite local foods at the last installment of Ecotrust’s 4th annual Sundown Concert Series which celebrates the intersection of music, green living and community wellbeing. In the spirit of its theme “Honoring Food” there will be a street fair-style exhibition with local restaurants, businesses and non-profits committed to creating sustainable food systems as well as live music from local bands Radiation City and Genders.
When: Wednesday, July 31 from 6 to 8:30 pm.

3rd Annual Brewer’s Burger Brawl at The Hop & Vine
What: Bid farewell to Oregon Craft Beer Month with the ultimate beer and burger challenge. Join the brewers from Oakshire Brewing, Hopworks, Fort George, Falling Sky, and Reverend Nat’s Cider as they grill the perfect patty to pair with their beers. Featured sliders will cost $5 each or $8 with the 12-oz beer pairing.
When: Wednesday, July 31 at 5 pm.

Firehouse Centennial & Summer Social
What: Firehouse Restaurant is throwing the birthday party of the century (literally) to celebrate their historic home’s 100th birthday and the restaurant’s 5-year anniversary. Expect an exciting block party in the heart of the Dekum triangle with pony rides, dancing, dunk tank, all-day live music, cotton candy, a petting zoo, Yelp giant jenga, sack races, tee shirt printing, and a chili cook-off featuring local chefs from Grain & Gristle, Old Salt Marketplace, Aviary, Fireside Restaurant, Breakside Brewing, and DOC. Proceeds benefit The Pixie Project and Sauvie Island Center.
When: Sunday, August 4 at 2 pm.

Accanto Cocktail Social with Bull Run Distillery
What: Local spirit slinger/Accanto Bar Manager Robert Fuller teams up with Bull Run Distilling (recently named one of America’s coolest distilleries by Travel & Leisure) for a cocktail tasting this Sunday. Sip and swoon over drinks like the St. 75 made with Aria gin, St. Germaine, prosecco, and honey. Each ticket gets you four cocktails featuring four different Bull Run spirits and a chance to win a tasting and tour at Bull Run Distillery, a Genoa Dinner for two, or an Accanto gift certificate.
When: Sunday, August 4 from 9 to 11 pm.

Big Pink Fundraiser at Nostrana
What: Nostrana teams up with Cameron Winery, Casa Bruno, and the medieval torch singers of Bergerette to present Big Pink: an evening of food, wine and song to raise funds for breast cancer research at Oregon Health Sciences University. The 4-course seafood supper will be paired with both French and Oregon rosés. 100% of profits will be donated directly to OHSU breast cancer research lab so you can eat well and do good by going.
When: Monday, August 5 at 6 pm.

Bent Brick Growler Party
What: Get out your growlers and fill them with your favorite wine find at Bent Brick’s upcoming Growler Party. Sample nine different wines from around the region (think Boedecker Cellars, Love and Squalor, Helioterra, and more) alongside bar bites from Chef/Owner Scott Dolich.
When: Thursday, August 8 from 6 to 10 pm.

Tortilla Making Class at Xico
What: Xico chef Kelly Myers will share her secrets at this hands-on class. Learn más about masa and how to make the perfect tortilla. Students get to take home a pound of fresh masa and two salsas.
When: Saturday, August 10 from 2 to 3:30 pm.
Where: Xico, 3715 SE Division St.
How Much: $25 per person (kids are free!) includes hands-on class, a pound of masa and two fresh salsas to take home.
Ode to Summer Party at The Fireside
What: NW 23rd's newest restaurant celebrates the season with their first street party filled with music, games, and food. The Fireside folks are shutting down Johnson St. between 23rd and 24th to make room for barbecues and boiling crawfish pots. Other seasonal specialties available for purchase include grilled corn on the cob with Calabrian chile butter, housemade Kielbasas, and watermelon salad with arugula and mint.
When: Sunday, August 11 from noon to 5 pm.
