Teote Areperia, the brick and mortar from the owners of Venezuelan-inspired food cart Fuego de Lotus, is now (softly) open on SE 12th Avenue. Dishing up fried corn arepas, grilled meats, and vegan-friendly bowls this colorful two-story eatery is open 11 am to 11 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. A grand opening is planned for early August pending the reveal of Teote's new outdoor patio and upstairs mezcal bar. Another one catches the brunch bug: Montavilla neighborhood bar Redwood will begin brunch service on Saturday, July 20. The menu marks a return to the a.m. meal for former Broder chef Susie McWilliams, so diners can expect a set of polished, creative offerings. The 9 am to 2 pm service will be available Wednesday through Saturday, and will mark the transformation of the space from 21+ to all-ages. 7915 SE Stark
Abby's Table goes mobile: This fall, Abby Fammartino's SE Ankeny health-focused supper club Abby's Table will undergo some major changes. According to an email announcement, the chef "has been presented with the exciting opportunity to work on a cookbook about making celebratory, social dining a reality for the home cook. In order to do the research for the book and make Abby's Table more useful to home cooks everywhere, she will continue the summer calendar and then will be moving out of the current kitchen on September 30th. The table dinners will thereafter be 'pop up' style events for the cookbook, in which the host or diners will participate in the cooking, so that she can learn about how to make the table dinner concept possible and useful for non-professional cooks." 609 SE Ankeny
Expatriate's Debut: Kyle Linden Webster and Naomi Pomeroy’s 30-seat cocktail lounge and Burmese-food eatery Expatriate is now open on NE Killingsworth (across the street from Beast). Dan Hart and Drew Sprouse get happier: According to the Oregonian, the owners of North Mississippi tavern Interurban have made some changes to their happy hour (now available from 3 to 6 pm weekdays and 10 pm to close on Sundays) and cocktail offerings (which now include a rotating draft cocktail and expanded whiskey selection). Andina brings Peruvian treats to the web: Portland Peruvian food institution Andina has launched a new website complete with online ordering to bring the restaurant's popular specialties to pick up or have delivered to your front door (think housemade salsas, alfajores, chocolate truffles, gift cards, and bottles from the restaurant’s wine list). 1314 NW Glisan St
Get wild with tops chefs from Portland and Seattle: Tickets are now on sale for Nicky USA's epic annual Wild About Game event and chef showdown. The action takes place on Sunday, September 8 from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm at Mt Hood's Timberline Lodge, where eight celebrity chefs—four from Portland, four from Seattle—will face off to create the best game-centric dish, local cookbook authors will be sharing their tomes, and a culinary marketplace will be set up with the region's best food and drink brands. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased in advance at Strangertickets.com (tickets will be be $75 at the door).
