PAM to Get Major Fashion Exhibit
The Portland Art Museum gets into the fashion game with an upcoming exhibit dedicated to the Italian greats. That means up close with Versace, Prada, and more.
Hold onto your stylish hats, we have great news for the fashion circuit. The Portland Art Museum has just announced their February 2015 exhibit, and it is good. In collaboration with the Victoria & Albert Museum in London they will present Italian Style: Fashion Since 1945, an exploration into Italian fashion from the end of the second World War to the present day.
According to the museum, “This major show demonstrates Italy’s dramatic transition from post-war devastation to the luxury paraded in the landmark “Sala Bianca” catwalk shows that propelled Italian fashion onto the world stage. It will also look at the influences of Hollywood films shot on location in Italy. Including fashions worn by stars including Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, who became style ambassadors for Italian fashion.”
The exhibition will include some 90 ensembles and accessories by leading fashion houses, including (get ready for it) Pucci, Valentino, Gucci, Missoni, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, and Versace.
Since we can’t even begin to describe the level of excitement over this coming affair, here’s another photo.
