Classic Wines Auction 2013
This year, the biggest night in Oregon wine gets even bigger with chef-powered winemaker dinners and an affordable urban tasting leading up to the auction gala on March 2nd.
The Classic Wines Auction is one of the largest annual fundraisers in Oregon—raising over $30 million for Portland-area charities since 1982—thanks to the hard work of local wine and restaurant professionals who dedicate their time, pouring hands, and dining rooms for a great cause.
This year, even more Portland restaurants are joining the benefit with February winemaker dinners throughout the Metro area and a special urban tasting event in the heart of Southeast Portland.
There are still tickets available to several of the exclusive pairing events, including Milwaukie Kitchen and Wine featuring Bergström Wines, June featuring Matello Wines, Aviary featuring Rex Hill, DOC featuring Italian wines from Vinum Wine Importing, Tabla Mediterranean Bistro featuring Pepper Bridge Winery and Walter Scott Wines, Smallwares featuring Teutonic Wine Co., and a special $50 "Urban Classic" tasting event at the SE Wine Collective.
Following two weeks of winemaker dinners, the 2013 Classic Wines Auction, will take place on Saturday, March 2nd beginning at 5 pm. Over 700 wine and food lovers from around the country will gather at the Oregon Convention Center for a food and wine reception, a five-course dinner prepared by Cory Schreiber and Scott Dolich, top national and international wine pairings, and a silent and live auction.
Events throughout the Classic Wine weeks range from $50 to $750 per person, and proceeds from the food and wine gatherings will benefit Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Friends of the Children Portland and YWCA Clark County, and a new beneficiary for 2013, Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel.
