BEST GUESTHOUSES PDX #3
Stash Guests at a Super Cool (and Famous) Southeast Loft
Walk to many of Portland's best restaurants from developer Kevin Cavenaugh's airy, modern loft atop Coalition Brewing.
When it debuted in 2002, Southeast 28th Street’s Box & One mixed-use infill project garnered architectural praise—and a cameo in a coffee table book (Michael Crosbie’s Living Together). Now your visitors can call its 1,100-square-foot loft—smack in the middle of Restaurant Row—home for a night. Cavenaugh no longer owns the building, but the prominent Portland developer still manages one of the lofts as a vacation rental, which features two enormous garage-door-as-windows, a commercial kitchen, and a two-minute walk to to popular restaurants like Ken’s Artisan Pizza and Bamboo Sushi.
