Halloween may be over, but you can still sink your fangs into something sweet this month. Portland Monthly and Salt & Straw's ice cream team have collaborated to bring one lucky reader's ice cream dreams to life, and we're ready to unmask the winning scoop.
After sifting through over 200 entries in our Dream Ice Cream Contest—including flavors like "Oregon breakfast burrito," "Absinthe sorbet with sugar cubes," and "Toro Bravo's bacon wrapped date"—Salt & Straw and Portland Monthly selected our top picks for a Facebook fan vote. The winner? JoAnna Coleman's Mexican vanilla ice cream with ancho chile and cajeta (goat's milk caramel) swirl.
Try it for yourself: Portland Monthly's dream ice cream flavor will be available at both Salt & Straw locations throughout the entire month of November, with profits benefitting De La Salle High School.
