Jazz at the Oxford Kicks Off in Bend
October 19 marks the start of the 3-year-old jazz and blues festival at Bend's chic downtown hotel.
Three years ago, former Trail Blazers president Marshall Glickman launched Bend's Jazz at the Oxford concert series as a gift to his musically talented son. Today the event's six weekend peformances stand as a present for all of us, with world-class jazz and blues musicians performing in an intimate setting at Bend's downtown Oxford Hotel. The series opens Oct. 19 with the Portland Blues Review and Curtis Salgado, a Eugene native who captured the Blues Foundation's 2010 Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year Award. The second installment (Nov. 23–24) brings New York City trumpeter Jeremy Pelt to the stage, and the December 22–23 concerts showcase Grammy-nominated saxophonist and vocalist Patrick Lamb. For full concert schedule, or to purchase tickets (from $35 per concert), visit oxfordhotelbend.com/jazz-at-the-oxford.htm.
