The one-man phenomenon plays his puzzlingly endearing songs tonight at Ella Street Social Club.
“You’re not that attractive, but something makes me feel that you’re going to be my girl.” Yes, you heard that right. There’s nothing quite like the guileless honesty and melancholy humor of Kaz Nomura, aka PWRFL Power; perhaps that’s what’s made the skinny Seattleite such a darling of his local rock rag The Stranger. Other credits include being animated into an Esurance ad, intermittently touring the US and Japan, and managing a record label, Half Yogurt, that distributes a handful of artists in both countries.
Whether you love or hate Kaz’s humble, twee musings and intricate guitar noodling—you can’t deny their power.
PWRFL Power will play at Ella Street Social Club (714 SW 20th Place, formerly Towne Lounge) tonight with Aan and Matt Carlson. For more upcoming arts events, visit PoMo’s Arts & Entertainment Calendar, stream content with our RSS feed or sign up for our weekly On The Town Newsletter!
