The Muddy Boot’s Easter to-do list
The snow is going off on Hood. And so are the deals. Today at Skibowl, a donation of four canned goods nets you a free lift ticket. The donations benefit Portland Police Bureau’s Sunshine Division. But you, dear snow-loving readers, are the real winners. Check out this video shot yesterday by ski patrol:
Looks pretty sweet to me. And let’s be honest, a couple of runs in some deep pow is gonna taste a whole lot better than those cans of Dinty Moore collecting dust on your shelves.
Yup, you guessed it; the Easter Bunny is in town. So if you’ve got rugrats, it’s time to do your duty: slap a raincoat on and get’em out to Blue Lake Park for Metro’s Blue Lake Bonanza Egg Hunt. The weather might be a tad drizzly, but the abundance of blossoming cherry trees makes the trek worthwhile. And if all else fails, head for the park’s covered shelters for egg coloring and face-painting. Gene Simmons mugs strongly encouraged.
With a spring storm rolling in like an angry baby (yeah, El Nino, I’m talking to you) all bets are off when it comes to decent weather this weekend. But if you did envision heading out with the point-and-click for some Easter wildflower action, Sunday morning looks to be your best shot. Make the most of your short weather window up at Lacamas Creek Park. The Camas city park is a tried-and-true spot for gorgeous displays of camas lilies with more than a few trilliums thrown in for good measure. And if the family gets a little muddy, well, that’s just all part of the experience.
